The period 50-75 is long, energetic, insightful and least stressful. As we moved from Phase I (Education) , Phase II (climbing the ladder) the Phase III gives an opportunity to define ourselves much better. As it is a long period, thirdQers have sufficient time to define who they are , what they like , what they want to do and Go about doing.
Isn't it a Brand all about ? With an unique personality and value proposition , ThirdQ people can define their brand lucidly, identify attributes and go about promoting to the rest of the world. While we have "celebrities" in the world, there is a serious shortage of "Human Brands" to choose from. Suddenly you are unshackled from the titles such as 'consultant' 'guru' 'mentor' etc., unless you choose to be one.
ThirdQ umbrella brand is powerful, decisive and with strong purpose. Let us all start defining our own brand. The time is "NOW"

Chatting with Friends
For last six months , I have been chatting with several friends with diverse backgrounds. While they patiently heard my argument, there appears to be aleternative ways of looking at the situation. People tend to closely relate to their life experiences and extrapolate. To that extent, so far, I am unable to move forward in the thinking process. Perhaps a more rigorous chat .. on line or in-person called for.

Introduction
Hello Friends,
Welcome to The Third Quartile Club (ThirdQ). It is intended for the persons in the age bracket of 50-75. However others are most welcome to join and support.
The main aim of this club is to redefine the role of people in the third quartile of their life in the changing world.
As we are all aware , world is getting faster, more net-worked and younger by day. The age old concept of approaching retirement time is no longer valid. At the same time with the increased focus on youth & vitality the traditional role played by the third quartile people is being challenged. The value propostion of these persons is being questioned. What are the options ? Moving to advisory roles (being called mentors , these days), taking up consultancy assignments (Guru speak) , move on to idyllic semi retired life, take up social work or just fight back ???
Unfortunately to my mind, some how all of these have a wee bit of negative tinge. While it is perfect to be a coach or a social worker, this vocation should be a personal choice and not a 'age dicated hand me down profession'
Obviously there must be a greater cause. The new world opens up new vistas. It only needs creative genius in us to wake up and find new paths. The time has come to redefine the roles and options. It can be in any walk of life, be in academia, industry, fine arts or Governance.
That is the reason for this invitation. I invite all people to join The Third Quartile Club and contribute on the debate.
